The 35th Southern African Computer Lecturers Association (SACLA2005) was hosted by the Department of Computer Science, University of Botswana

The 35th Southern African Computer Lecturers Association (SACLA) is an opportunity for academics from Southern Africa who are involved in the study, management, development and implementation of ICT initiatives in the learning and teaching sectors to come together and exchange ideas and examples of best practice.

The organizing committee for the conference invites submissions of papers on both the theory and practice of all aspects of teaching, learning and research in CS, IS&T and related disciplines. The conference in July 2005 is seeking qualitative, experience-based and quantitative papers as well as case studies and reports of work in progress. Topics may include, but are not limited to,

  • e-Learning portals and Virtual Learning Environments,
  • Learning Content Management Systems,
  • security and confidentiality,
  • integrated systems,
  • community based learning,
  • The digital divide,
  • new partnerships for e-learning,
  • computing curriculum
  • emerging technologies
  • pedagogical innovations

 

In addition to multiple streams of papers, the conference committee is inviting proposals for single topic workshops and tutorials.
